2010 Chapter Dues ARE NOW DUE Pay Your Dues Online. Please click on the link to Pay Dues On Line All meetings are held the third Thursday of the month from 7:00 - 9:00 PM. Most meetings are held at Jon Hansen Hanger, Cobb County Airport (RYY). Notification will be issued (sometimes the week of the meeting) if the meeting location is adjusted. February 18 - Monthly Chapter Meeting at Hansen Hanger, Cobb County Airport (RYY). Our speaker will be Michael Huffman. Michael is a DAR specializing in Light Sport aircraft. Michael teaches a E-LSA Repairman course and is an expert on Light Sport Aircraft and the Sport Pilot regulations, particularly regarding maintenance. So, that will be the subject of his presentation.

2010 Past Meetings and Events January 28th - Our Annual awards banquet was held at Kayson's Restaurant
2009 Past Meetings and Events November 19th - Our speaker for this meeting was Dan Miller from Aveo Engineering. Dan talked about the lastest lighting technologies for aviation, LED lights. Dan's presentation was based on the Aveo product line, but covered FAA lighting requirements, LED lighting vs. traditional lighting, and power and wiring requirements. He was familiar with several aircraft projects (RVs, Zenith, etc), and advised on installation and wiring requirements, etc. on for most installations of LED lighting. Dan is a member of EAA 1211 in Blairsville and is an experienced speaker at other aviation events including EAA 690 in Lawrenceville, the Spruce Creek EAA chapter in Daytona Beach, the Cessna 120/140 Club, the Cessna 150 Club, and to groups at fly-ins all over the SE. Dan is a former Marine helicopter pilot (CH-53) with about 1400 hours total time. He's been an EAA member since 1978, but has just started flying again in the past two years after an absence of 35 years. October 15th - Our October meeting was the annual hangar dinner at Mike, David, and Wes's hangar. At this meeting, we had elections for our two open officer positions, Secretary and Vice-President. Some pictures for you.....
September 17th - Our speaker for this meeting was Antonio Figueras. Antonio is the Director of Education for the Aviation Museum & Discovery Center in Marietta. As the Director of Education, Antonio is charged will helping progress the Aviation Museum & Discovery Center toward its vision of aspiring to be the premier place for all people to celebrate the history and innovation of aviation, to explore the applications of science, technology, engineering and mathematics to aviation, and to inspire dreams about the future through learning and discovery. Prior to his current position, Antonio served as an Aerospace Workforce Consultant with the National Aerospace Development Center; Aerospace instructor with the Fernbank Science Center; and held the position as Director of Georgia’s only NASA Educator Resource Center. Raised in Gainesville, Georgia, Antonio has lived in Marietta for 20 years with his wife Lori and they have two daughters, Arrin (17) and Alexia (8). His mother Myrtle Figueras, a retired high school French teacher, is the current Mayor of Gainesville. Antonio has given back to the Cobb community by involvement in the Education Steering Committee - Cobb Chamber, Cobb Children's Center, Marietta Kiwanis Club, United Way of Cobb County, Cobb Youth Museum, Habitat For Humanity, Marietta Reads!, Professional Association of Georgia Educators and alumni of the 93-94 Leadership Cobb program.
